The Skills Cluster for Advanced Hair Styling is a Vet (Vocational Education Training) extension qualification for secondary school students who have completed the Certificate II in Salon Assistant (SHB20216). Students undertake 4 units from the Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) qualification as part of the cluster. Subjects focus on creating hair designs and long hair styling in addition to building practical skills such as identifying and treating scalp conditions and complying with in-salon health and hygiene practices.
Upon successful completion, VET graduates will receive a Statement of Attainment for the completed units, up to 20 SACE Credits for Stage 2 and may be eligible for RPL (recognised prior learning) credits if they continue studying at Certificate III level.
