VET – Certificate II in Salon Assistant

The Certificate II in Salon Assistant (SHB20216) is the entry level qualification for the hairdressing industry and is available for secondary school students to undertake as a VET (Vocational Education Training) course. The qualification prepares students to provide assistance to hairdressers in a salon environment. Course units include elements of styling, basin services, applying colour and completing in-store operational, and sales duties.

Upon successful completion, VET graduates will receive a nationally recognised qualification that can be used to seek employment, up to 45 SACE credits and may be eligible for RPL (recognised prior learning) credits if they continue studying at Certificate III level.
